STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State softball team was an 18-3 winner over West Texas A&M in an exhibition played at Cowgirl Stadium Sunday.
OSU hit eight doubles in the contest – a mark that would have set a school record had it been an official game. Eight different Cowgirls hit the eight doubles.
The Buffaloes scored three runs on three hits in the first inning but were held to only one hit and zero runs for the remainder of the contest.
Audrey Schneidmiller led the offensive onslaught for OSU by going 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and five runs batted in. Caroline Wang went 2-for-2 with a home run, a double and two RBI and Micaela Wark, Claire Timm, Tallen Edwards, Lexi McDonald and Rosie Davis added multi-hit games as well to spur an 18-hit performance for the team.
In the circle, Lexi Kilfoyl struck out five with Katie Kutz, Kyra Aycock, Kathryn Ogg and Ivy Rosenberry only allowing one hit over seven innings.
The Cowgirls host the Tulsa Golden Hurricane at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Cowgirl Stadium to close the fall exhibition schedule.
