Three-Peat
Since 2012, the Cowgirls have been the only program to post back-to-back tournament wins at the Jim West Challenge. This week, the team will be eyeing a three-peat in San Marcos. In the 2021-22 season, OSU posted a program record team score of 39-under, while taking the event by two shots last year.
Maddison Hinson-Tolchard had counting rounds for the Cowgirls in both of their tournament wins, while Clemence Martin and Thitaporn Saithip competed in last season's victory.
Maddy Makes the Most of Q-School
Senior Maddison Hinson-Tolchard competed at Stage II of Q-School during the week, playing four rounds at Plantation Golf Course and Country Club in Venice, Fla.
After carding back-to-back par 72 rounds, Hinson-Tolchard starred on Thursday, carding a 6-under 66 to place tied for 12th heading into the final 18. She finished the tournament 2-under 72-72-66-76 to finish tied for 30th – meeting the cut for an opportunity to head to LPGA Q-Series in November. Golfers must declare as a professional to be eligible in the LPGA Q-Series.
Staying Fresh
Freshman golfers Ellie Bushnell and Marta Silchenko return to the starting lineup following impressive play at the Illini Women's Invitational. Both members carded a round of 68 – their lowest rounds as Cowgirls – while in Medinah.
Bushnell has earned a starting nod in all four fall tournaments, while Silchenko makes her third start of the fall on Sunday.
