The day began with doubles as two Cowgirl tandems competed in the main draw. The third-seeded pair of Anastasiya Komar and Ange Oby Kajuru collected two wins on Friday, first defeated the Kansas pair of Silvia Maria Costache and Tamari Gagoshidze, 8-2, before knocking off Maja Bajorek and Valeeva Lera from Southeast Missouri State, 8-2.
Kristina Novak and Raquel Gonzalez also earned a first-round victory, besting South Illinois' Jordan Schifano and Jill Lambrechts, 8-4. They would fall in the next round, however, losing to Sofia Pinto and Mia Liepert from Minnesota, 8-3.
In singles, the Cowgirls posted a 4-0 record after each received a first-round bye. Komar, the top overall seed, defeated Grace O'Donnell from Arkansas, 6-1, 6-4. Gonzalez followed that with a win over Missouri State's Cristina Flaquer, 6-4, 6-2, while Novak knocked off Pia Kranholdt from Iowa, 6-1, 6-1. Kajuru closed the day by cruising past Wichita State's Natsumi Kurahashi, 6-1, 6-3.
