Cowgirl Duo Advances at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N. C. – Kristina Novak and Ange Oby Kajuru of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team competed on day two of the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, on Sunday.
Novak began the day with a second-round win in the pre-qualifying singles bracket, defeating Taylor Cataldi of Wisconsin, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. Her run would come to a close, however, in the final round of pre-qualifying, as she fell to Pepperdine's Anna Campana, 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 4-6.
In doubles, Novak and Kajuru punched their ticket to the qualifying draw, defeating Malwina Rowinska and Qavia Lopez of Florida, 8-7 (7-3). They will begin play in the qualifying bracket tomorrow with the draw still to be determined. Kajuru is also set to open play in the singles qualifying draw tomorrow at 10 a.m. CT, taking on Kaila Barksdale from Utah.
