Kalib Boone got the Cowboys on the scoreboard with a slick post-move early in the first half.

The Cowboys' defense led the charge early, blocking two shots in the first five minutes, as the Cowboys went into the first media timeout down, 6-4.

Back-to-back threes from John-Michael Wright and Caleb Asberry gave the Cowboys their first lead of the game, 10-9, with 13 minutes left in the first half.

Three-straight buckets from Kalib Boone put the Pokes on a 6-0 run that tied the game at 23 with just under five minutes to play in the first half.

The Cowboys extended that run to 11-0 after a fast break lay-in from Bryce Thomspson, forcing the Wildcats to take another timeout after the Pokes grabbed a four-point lead.

OSU ended the half on a 15-7 run, led by six points from Kalib Boone, to head into the break leading 32-30.

A massive corner three from Chris Harris Jr. extended the run to 9-0, bringing OSU within one, 55-56, with 3:11 remaining.

The Cowboys kept it close until the end, but ended up falling 65-57.

Head coach Mike Boynton went with Avery Anderson III, Bryce Thompson, John-Michael Wright, Kalib Boone and Tyreek Smith as the starting-five for the second-straight game.

OSU has held 14 of its 16 opponents to 35 percent shooting or less from the three-point line, and ten of 16 have shot less than 30 percent.

The Cowboys came into the Kansas St. matchup ranking third in the country in opponents FG percentage, and Tuesday's contest was no different as the Wildcats shot 35 percent from the field.

Kansas St. entered the matchup averaging 98 points per game in conference play, but the elite Cowboy defense held the high-powered Wildcats to just 65 points.

Tyreek Smith has started the previous two games in place of Moussa Cisse and has stepped up in a big way on the defensive end. In two starts, Smith has tied his career-high in blocks twice, with three blocks against Texas and Kansas State.
