Cowgirls Finish In Third In Norman

NORMAN, Okla. ---- Oklahoma State women's golf wrapped up its weekend at the Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club on Monday, finishing in third place after carding a 273 in the final round to finish the weekend at 7-under at the par-70, 6,112-yard layout.

OSU's combined 54-hole score of 833 this weekend was the team's lowest total since the Jim West Challenge in the fall of 2021. The third-place finish for the Cowgirls gives them 18 consecutive top-3 finishes in regular season tournaments dating back to October of 2020.

Clemence Martin, in her first tournament action since an injury in March, led the Cowgirls all weekend with her fantastic play as she shot a 3-under 67 on Monday to finish 8-under on her way to a tie for third-place finish. A sophomore, her weekend marked multiple personal bests, including the highest tournament finish and the best 54-hole score of her young career.

Martin carded 16 birdies in her three rounds of work, good for second most among the field in Norman.

Rina Tatematsu had a standout performance on Monday, finishing the tournament on a high note with a 4-under 66, which equaled her previous career-low 18-hole score. Her resilient final round led to a tie for 20th at even-par.

Maddison Hinson-Tolchard finished the tournament in a tie for 20th at even-par, as well, after a solid final round of 68. A junior, she birdied the first four holes of the day to start her final 18 holes.

Han-Hsuan Yu and Hailey Jones rounded out the starting lineup for the Cowgirls in Norman, finishing the tournament in ties for 38th and 68th, respectively. Â Yu and Jones both posted rounds of 73 on Monday.

Thitaporn Saithip and Cecilie Leth-Nissen competed as individuals over the weekend, as the freshmen continue to gain valuable playing experience. Saithip followed up her debut top-10 performance at the Carmel Cup with a tied for 15th-place finish in Norman, ending the event at 1-under par.

Meanwhile, Leth-Nissen finished her second career tournament in 76th place.

The Cowgirls led the field in par-4 scoring and eagles this weekend, while finishing second in total birdies, trailing only Florida State. The Cowgirls tallied 55, one behind the Seminoles 56.

Oklahoma State will be back in action at the Illini Women's Invitational at Medinah Country Club on October 10-11.
