Cowgirl Tennis Dominates Day in Lubbock and San Francisco

STILLWATER – Four members of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team completed a successful day in each of their respective tournaments across the nation.
Raquel Gonzalez and Ayumi Miyamoto are representing the Cowgirls at the ITF Lubbock 15k Pro Circuit while Kristina Novak and Sofia Rojas kicked off their first day at the Battle in the Bay.
In Lubbock, the day commenced with Gonzalez defeating Miyamoto, 6-2, 6-2, to advance to the quarterfinals. The All-American duo, Miyamoto and Lisa Marie Rioux, bested Carson Branstine and Tatiana Makarova, 6-4, 6-3, and Gonzalez's doubles match resulted in a walkover.
In San Francisco, OSU's success continued as Novak and Rojas took down Tomi Main and Alexis Sam, 8-7 (7-5). Next, Novak beat Yinglak Jittakoat, 7-5, 7-5, and Rojas earned a commanding, 7-5, 6-0, victory over Hana Gamracy.
The ITF Lubbock 15k Pro Circuit will begin at 12 p.m. with singles play while Battle in the Bay is slated to start with doubles at 11 a.m. CT.
