Cowgirl Soccer’s Nytes And Dowell Collect Honors

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State freshman Jordan Nytes is the Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week for Week Five, while senior Olyvia Dowell was named to the College Soccer News Women's National Team of the Week and was honorable mention for the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women's Team of the Week.
Nytes and Dowell led the Cowgirls to a pair of wins last week, including their first win over a ranked opponent when they knocked off No. 25 Brown, as OSU improved to 7-1-1 on the season.
A freshman, Nytes had six saves on the week, posting three saves against both Mercer and Brown.
Mercer entered last Thursday's game eighth in the NCAA in scoring offense at over three goals per game, and Nytes held the Bears to just one in OSU's 3-1 win.
On Sunday, Nytes recorded her third shutout of the season after facing 16 shots and 10 corner kicks by Brown.
Nytes has played a role in all six of the Cowgirls' Big 12-best six shutouts this season, and she leads the conference in goals against average (0.48) while ranking second in save percentage (.846).
Dowell continued her scoring ways, netting three of OSU's five goals on the week.
Against Mercer, after the Bears cut the OSU lead to 2-1 at the 86:05 mark, Dowell scored just 16 seconds later to seal the Cowgirls' win.
Dowell followed that by scoring both goals in the win over Brown, with each coming during the final 19 minutes of the 2-0 victory.
For the week, Dowell played 171 of a possible 180 minutes and posted 12 shots, with seven of those on goal.
Dowell now has seven goals on the season, which ranks second in the Big 12 and 10th nationally. She also moved into sixth on OSU's all-time goals list with 30, and she is seventh on the program's points list with 79.
Nytes joins Dowell (Offensive Player of the Week, Week One) and Grace Yochum (Offensive Player of the Week, Week Four) as Cowgirls to earn a Big 12 weekly award in 2022.
