Smeeton Named to CoSIDA All-America Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State distance runner Ryan Smeeton was named a first-team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced on Wednesday.
Smeeton is the fifth OSU student-athlete to be named Academic All-American this academic year, and the first first-team selection. The following were all second-team selections: Hannah Webb (soccer), Jake Thompson (baseball), Chelsea Alexander and Kelly Maxwell (both softball).
Ryan is the 104th OSU student-athlete to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, and the 48th first-team selection. He is the 11th men's track & field/cross country recipient, and it marks the fifth-consecutive year that Cowboy Track has had an honoree and seven occasion in the past nine years. Cowboy Track also had an honoree in four-straight years from 2007-10.
