June 16, 2022 | Cowgirl Basketball
STILLWATER, Okla. – Two members of the Oklahoma State women's basketball team have been recognized with Jhasmin Player and Taelor Karr being tabbed by Silver Waves Media among the Most Impactful High Major Assistant Coaches in Division I Women's Basketball.
To be considered for the list, the coaches must be current assistants for high major programs and are poised to take a head coaching position in the future. The list was compiled after consultation with a panel of basketball professionals.
Player, who enters her first season as the associate head coach for Cowgirl head coach Jacie Hoyt's staff, arrived in Stillwater this spring after working last year as a member of the SMU coaching staff. Additionally, her career has included stops at Kansas, Loyola Marymount and Maine.
A native of Bay City, Texas, Player played professionally for five seasons in Europe and spent time with the WNBA's Atlanta Dream as well. She competed collegiately at Baylor.
Karr will be entering her second season with the Cowgirl program after arriving for the 2021-22 campaign as an assistant coach. She previously spent five seasons at Santa Clara and also worked as a graduate assistant manager at Oregon.
The Paola, Kan., native enjoyed a successful playing career at Gonzaga where she was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year as a senior. Karr also enjoyed a stint in professional basketball, playing in France before joining the coaching ranks.
