Three Cowgirls Set For NCAA Individual Competition

STILLWATER- Lisa Marie Rioux, Mhai Sawangkaew and Ayumi Miyamoto will begin singles and doubles competition at the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships tomorrow in Champaign, Illionois. Â

Cowgirl veteran and first-team All-Big 12 singles selection Lisa Marie Rioux and fellow first teamer and Big 12 Freshman of the Year Mhai Sawangkaew were at-large selections for the singles bracket. Â
 Â
Representing the Cowgirls in doubles action will be the court one All-Big 12 tandem of Lisa Marie Rioux and Ayumi Miyamoto, who hold an impressive 17-3 clip on the year. Â
 Â
Rioux will face Haley Giavara of California at 4 p.m. and Sawangkaew will face off against Old Dominion's Yuliia Starodubtseva at 12:30 p.m.Â
 Â
Giavara was 10-12 on the season for the Golden Bears and Starodubtseva finished 22-1 for the Monarchs.Â
 Â
Lisa Marie Rioux and Ayumi Miyamoto face Carol Lee and Kate Sharabura of Georgia Tech on Tuesday.  Â
 Â
A player has to win two matches to be named an ITA All-American. OSU has had at least one player achieve this milestone each season since 2014. Â
