The No. 12 overall seed, Oklahoma State's women's tennis team (20-5 overall; 7-2 Big 12) hits the road for an NCAA Sweet 16 matchup against the tournament's No. 5 overall seed Virginia (22-5 overall; 10-3 AAC). The Cowgirls and Cavaliers square off at 12 p.m. (CST) on May 14 in Charlottesville, Virginia.Â

The Cowgirls entered the postseason ranked No. 12 in the latest ITA Top 25 rankings, marking the 16th consecutive week the Cowgirls have appeared in the top 25 poll. In addition to the team rankings, four Cowgirls were ranked in the ITA Tennis Division I women's tennis rankings. The national rankings feature the top 125 singles players and the top 60 doubles teams in the country. Cowgirl veteran and first-team all-Big 12 selection Lisa Marie Rioux earned the highest singles ranking of any Cowgirl as she checked in at No. 20, while Big 12 Freshman of the Year Mhai Sawangkaew came in at No. 31. Two Cowgirl duos earned a spot in the top 60, including the dominant first team All-Big 12 court one tandem of Ayumi Miyamoto and Lisa Marie Rioux, who rose six spots to No. 12 after back-to-back ranked victories at the Big 12 Championships. Mhai Sawangkaew and Martina Zerulo are the 75th-ranked duo in the nation.   Â

Oklahoma State holds a 1-0 all-time record against Virginia. The lone meeting between the two programs dates back to 2019, when the Cowgirls handled Virginia, 4-0.  Â
