Gabija Galvydyte Jumps into Fifth in NCAA as OSU Outdoor Track Wraps up Tri-Meet Weekend

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State outdoor track & field wrapped up its third week of competition during the outdoor season with several runners competing in the Joe Walker Invitational on Saturday.
 
Gabija Galvydyte led the way for the Cowgirls on Saturday in the 800 Meter run, setting a new personal record with a time of 2:04.20. Galvydyte's time puts her sixth on OSU's all-time list and is unofficially the fifth-fastest time in the NCAA as of Saturday.
 
Sivan Auerbach, Taylor Roe, Jinah Mickens-Malik, Lilly Lavier, Colleen Stegmann, Krystal Rodriguez and Mackenzie Michael also competed for the Cowgirls in the 800, finishing with times of 2:07.30, 2:09.38, 2:09.59, 2:10.62, 2:13.63, 2:13.70 and 2:16.06, respectively. Auerbach's time earned her an 11th- place finish in the event.
 
Zoie Kiddy and Natalia Cleveland ran for the Cowgirls in the women's 1,500 Meters, earning third and fourth-place finishes in their heat with times of 4:43.92 and 4:45.84, respectively.
 
The Cowboys and Cowgirls will return to the track next weekend with another tri-meet weekend that spans from coast-to-coast. They will split up once again, traveling to California, Florida and Norman, Okla., for three more meets for the midway point of the regular season.
