Olivija Vaitaityte Breaks School Record in First OSU Heptathlon in Split-Meet Weekend

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State outdoor track & field traveled across the country and competed in multiple meets as several athletes opened up for the first time this season on Friday.
Olivija Vaitaityte completed her first career Heptathlon in a Cowgirl uniform in the Jim Click Invitational in Tucson, Ariz., and broke the school record with 5,543 points overall. Vaitaityte set new personal records in five of the seven events in the Heptathlon and is unofficially ninth in the NCAA after Friday's competition.
Jayden Fiebiger also competed in her first career Heptathlon in Tucson, finishing ninth overall with a score of 3,884 points, which puts her ninth in program history.
Meanwhile, the Cowboy and Cowgirl distance squads traveled to Oxford, Miss., to compete in the Joe Walker Invitational on Friday. Indoor 3K National Champion Taylor Roe competed in her first race since winning her first national title and finished fourth overall in the women's 1,500 Meters with her time of 4:19.78. Indoor second-team All-American Gabija Galvydyte also competed in her first race of the outdoor season and set a new personal best, finishing the race third overall with a time of 4:19.57.
Sivan Auerbach, Lilly Lavier, Krystal Rodriguez and Colleen Stegmann also competed in the 1,500 Meters and finished with times of 4:22.70, 4:33.22, 4:36.57 and 4:37.23, respectively. Emily Carter ran in the women's 5,000 Meters to round out the night for the Cowgirls, finishing 19th overall with a time of 16:58.88.
On the men's side, Fouad Messaoudi, Ryan Schoppe, Isaiah Priddey and Kian Davis all competed in the men's 1,500 Meters. Messaoudi put down a time of 3:40.50, which ranks eighth in program history and put him fifth in the NCAA unofficially after Friday's action. Schoppe, Priddey and Davis finished with times of 3:43.36, 3:44.70 and 3:46.52, respectively to put all four Cowboys in the top 12 in the event.
Ben Calusinski ran in his first collegiate race on Friday in Oxford in the men's 5,000 Meters, finishing with a time of 14:44.74.
At the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., Chris Middleton-Pearson and Daniel Nickell each ran in the men's 1,500 Meters, finishing second and tenth overall with times of 3:50.52 and 3:58.13, respectively.
Molly Humes, Emily Forster, Amelia Jauregui, Kennadi Price and Abby Pickett all ran in the women's 3,000 Meters, with each placing inside the top 13. Humes and Forster finished with personal-best times of 10:15.95 and 10:18.75, respectively.
