Elish, Maxwell Claim Big 12 Weekly Honors

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State softball standouts Miranda Elish and Kelly Maxwell won the Big 12's weekly honors, with Elish earning Big 12 Player of the Week and Maxwell claiming Big 12 Pitcher of the Week accolades for their respective performances against Texas Tech.
For Elish, it was her third consecutive Big 12 weekly award as she was honored as Big 12 Pitcher of the Week in each of the two previous weeks. This is her first time this season being honored as Big 12 Player of the Week. The last time a Big 12 student-athlete earned both player of the week and pitcher of the week awards in the same season was Elish while she played for Texas in 2020.
The senior from Crown Point, Ind., went 8-for-8 with four home runs in the Texas Tech series and drove in nine runs, had 21 total bases and a slugging percentage of 2.625. She hit a grand slam and a two-run homer in the first inning of Sunday's victory.
Maxwell was recognized as Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season after no-hitting the Red Raiders in Friday's conference opener.
The no-hitter was Maxwell's first of the season, the fourth of her career and the third from the OSU pitching staff in 2022. She has now thrown at least one no-hitter in each of her three collegiate seasons.
In her two wins over Texas Tech last weekend, she improved to 11-0 on the year after striking out 24 batters in 10.0 innings of work.
