OSU Outdoor Track & Field Opens Season at Texas Relays
March 25, 2022 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
AUSTIN, Texas – Oklahoma State Outdoor Track & Field opened its 2022 slate on Thursday with a trio of athletes competing at the 94th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.
Max Braht officially kicked off the season for the Cowboys in the men's open Javelin Throw. Braht launched his furthest throw of the day on his first attempt with a distance of 54.95 meters (180'-3").
Following Braht was Michaela Travers and Megan Mann in the women's 400 Meter Hurdles. Travers opened the Cowgirl season with a personal-best time of 1:01.54, which earned her a sixth place finish in her heat.
Mann followed up in the women's University/College Timed Final with the second PR of the day for the Cowgirls, finishing the race with a time of 1:04.31.
"It's a good start for these three athletes," Throws, Multis and Vaults Coach Josh Langley said. "It's a season opener in their primary outdoor events, so there's obviously going to be some rust to knock off. I think Michaela opening up with a PR really bodes well for her upcoming season."
Several Cowboys and Cowgirls will compete tomorrow, including both 4x400 Meter Relays and four-time All-Big 12 honoree Saara Hakanen in the High Jump. Koryee Wyatt and Brooke Givens will open up their seasons in the 100 Meter dash with Olivija Vaitaityte opening up in the 100 Meter Hurdles.
