March 11, 2022 | Cowgirl Equestrian
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -Â The No. 2-ranked Oklahoma State Equestrian team defeated Bridgewater in Jumping Seat, 7-1, on Friday at the Hildebrand Equine Complex to bring the Cowgirls'Â record to 9-2 on the season.Â
"I am proud of these girls for a lot of smart rides today," said OSU jumping seat assistant coach Olivia Dorey. "We had two girls step into the competition ring for the first time and step up to the plate, which proves how much depth in talent we have on this team right now. It was a great start to the weekend, but we know we have a big meet ahead of us so we are ready to step it up even more tomorrow."Â
OSUÂ began strong in Fences with Emma Pacyna claiming the first Cowgirl point, 80-68, against Caroline Warren. Freshman Riley Hogan followed suit with a win versus Emily Nuthall, 79-74. Â
The Fences Big 12 February Rider of the Month, Sydnie Ziegler, bested Kelsey Ann Quinn, 78-76, to earn another OSU tally and her fourth MOP honor of the season. Finally, for the first official ride of her career, Josie Elliott came out on top against Magdalena Broderick, 79-67.Â
Flat occurred directly after, with Hope King securing an 80.5-69 win against Caroline Warren. The only point for the Eagles came from Quinn after she bested Katie Pelzel, 69-67.5. Â
Abigail Brayman earned her fourth MOP honor of the season after beating Nuthall, 83.5-63.5. The last Cowgirl point came from Grace McReynolds as she gained her first collegiate victory against Haley Partlow, 72.5-56.Â
