Sawangkaew Named Big 12 Player Of The Week

IRVING, Texas — Following a dominant performance at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic last weekend, tournament MVP Mhai Sawangkaew was named Big 12 Tennis Player of the Week.
Sawangkaew went 3-0 in singles action and 1-0 in doubles play over the weekend, including a victory over the 23rd-ranked doubles duo of Julia Adams and Ellie Schoppe. The freshman paired up with Martina Zerulo to take a 6-4 win on the top court before defeating Schoppe, 6-0, 6-2, in the No. 2 spot.
This followed a 6-2, 7-5 win against Yale's Chelsea Kung on Friday before capping off the weekend with a dominant performance against 84th-ranked Anna Campana of Wake Forest, 6-1, 6-1, on Saturday.
Oklahoma State women's tennis will return to the court on March 11 to kick off Big 12 play against Kansas State.
