STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's women's basketball team could not overcome a tough shooting first half on Sunday afternoon in a 56-38 loss to Kansas State in front of 5,868 fans inside Bramlage Coliseum.
The loss snapped OSU's two-game winning streak overall on the season as well as its two-game streak in Manhattan.
The Cowgirls were held to a 2-for-25 shooting effort and limited to just 6 points in the first 20 minutes. OSU's defense kept the Cowgirls in the game, holding K-State to a 10-of-36 shooting effort and 22 points.
After the break, OSU hit three consecutive 3-pointers, including two from Lexy Keys to get within 12 at 27-15 three minutes into the half. The Wildcats would close the period on a 7-2 run to extend their lead to 18 at 41-23.
K-State would lead by as many as 29 in the fourth before the Cowgirls closed the contest on a 13-2 run over the last 4:30 of the game.
Lauren Fields was the lone Cowgirl to reach double figures, scoring 10 points. Taylen Collins added eight points to go with 11 rebounds.
