Oklahoma State Leads Big 12 with 26 Cross Country Academic All-Big 12 Recipients

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country each led the Big 12 in their respective sports with 11 and 15 Academic All-Big 12 selections, respectively, the conference announced Tuesday.
The Cowboys tallied eight first team and three second team honorees, with Isai Rodriguez earning his fifth selection in a row. Alex Maier and Isaiah Priddey each earned their third selections in a row, with Will Muirhead, Jonas Price, Ryan Schoppe, Grant Wilcox and Juan Diego Castro earning their second career honors. Ben Calusinski, Chris Middleton-Pearson and Alex Stitt all earned their first career cross country academic honors in 2022.
On the women's side, 15 Cowgirls were named to the Academic All-Big 12 team, with all of them earning first-team honors. Taylor Somers earned her fifth consecutive honor, with Molly Born and Maddie Salek right behind her after earning their fourth straight selections. Emily Forster, Gabby Hentemann and Taylor Roe each earned their third career honors, with Sivan Auerbach, Heidi Demeo and Stephanie Moss earning their second selections. Natalia Cleveland, Gabija Galvydyte, Molly Humes, Kennadi Price, Krystal Rodriguez and Colleen Stegmann each earned their first cross country academic honors in 2022.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
