Oklahoma State Takes Down UT Arlington In Season Opener, 77-66

STILLWATER, Okla. -- Bryce Thompson and Kalib Boone led the Cowboys to a 77-66 win over UT Arlington on Monday night in Gallagher-Iba Arena to begin the 2022-23 season. Â
Thompson tallied 18 points and seven rebounds in 35 minutes to lead all scorers, while Kalib Boone scored 15, his most since Nov. 17, 2021, against N.C. State.Â
Three Cowboys made their debut on Monday, including John-Michael Wright, Caleb Asberry, and Quion Williams. Â
Wright led the group in scoring with 14 points, splashing three from beyond the arc. Â
The Cowboys outscored the Mavericks 28-2 in the first eight minutes of the second half to extend the lead to 55-24, giving the Cowboys plenty of cushion for the remainder of the game.Â
Chris Harris Jr. made his first regular-season appearance for the Cowboys in 712 days, going all the way back to Nov. 25, 2020, against UT Arlington. Â
Oklahoma State has now won eight straight games against UT Arlington, including the last three season-openers. The Cowboys are 5-1 under Mike Boynton in season-openers. Â
