Cowgirl Softball Bests Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. – The Oklahoma State softball team won its final road game of the 2022 fall season 12-2 against Wichita State on Friday at Wilkins Stadium.
With the victory, OSU moved to 4-0 in fall exhibition play.
Lexi Kilfoyl got the start in the circle for the Cowgirls, her first of the fall season. She struck out five Shockers in 2.0 innings of work.
Wichita State took an early 2-0 lead with a two-run home run in their half of the first inning.
In the top of the second, Chyenne Factor brought Megan Bloodworth home on an RBI single to left, cutting the WSU lead in half.
With the bases loaded, a heads-up double play from the Wichita State defense kept the Pokes from adding any more in the second.
The Cowgirls opened it up in the third, totaling nine runs to take a 10-2 lead.
The scoring outburst was highlighted by two-run home runs from Lexi Kilfoyl and Kiley Naomi and RBI doubles from Taylor Tuck and Tallen Edwards.
Factor tallied her second RBI single of the game in the top of the fifth, scoring Micaela Wark and bringing the Cowgirls lead up to 11-2.
Bailie Runner, Ivy Rosenberry, Kelly Maxwell and Kyra Aycock each made appearances in the circle in the exhibition contest.
The Pokes are back in action on Sunday for a pair of home contests as they take on Central Arkansas at 12 p.m. and West Texas A&M at 3:30 p.m.
