Rojas Advances To ITA Intercollegiate Championships Final

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Sofia Rojas advanced to the singles final at the ITA Intercollegiate Championships with a pair of victories on Saturday in San Diego, Calif.
Rojas started the day by defeating Kailey Evans of the University of San Diego, 6-2, 6-3, to advance to the semifinals. She then took down No. 1 Anne-Christine Lutkemeyer of UCLA to advance to Sunday's championship.
Rojas will battle against No. 7 Claudia De Las Heras of the University of San Diego in the championship match tomorrow at 11 a.m. (CT).
Also competing in San Diego was Cowgirl Alana Wolfberg. In her first singles match she defeated No. 8 Isabelle Lee of USC in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, before falling to De Las Heras in a hard-fought competition, 1-6, 6-2, 3-6.
On the other side of the country, Ayumi Miyamoto and Raquel Gonzalez represented the Cowgirls at the ITA All-American in Cary, N.C.
Gonzalez dropped her match, 3-6, 3-6, to Sophie Abrams of N.C. State. Miyamoto defeated Clemson's Eleni Louka, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4, in her first competition of the week.
Miyamoto will compete at 9 a.m. (CT) against Marcella Cruz of Vanderbilt while Gonzalez will play Sonya Macayei of Vanderbilt in the consolation bracket tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. (CT).
