OSU Indoor Track & Field Travels To Lubbock For Red Raider Open

THE BASICS

Oklahoma State track & field travels to Lubbock, Texas, to compete in the Red Raider Open on Friday, Jan. 21.

This is the second major competition of the 2022 season for both the Cowboys and Cowgirls as they look to improve upon their fourth and second place finishes at the Big 12 Indoor Championships last spring.

New year, New season

The Cowboys capped off a successful first meet of the season last week at the Arkansas Invitational with Triston Read and Ryan Schoppe winning the 800m and mile runs, respectively. Schoppe's time of 3:58.71 placed him eighth on OSU's all-time mile list. Zac Robbins and Sam Mason each set a personal best in the weight throw and earned second and third place on OSU's all-time list.

The Cowgirls also kicked off their 2022 with solid performances in Fayetteville. Heidi Demeo won the women's mile with freshman Colleen Stegmann finishing just behind in third. Demeo and Stegmann currently sit first and second in the Big 12 in the mile this season. Hannah Bradford also put herself in the Cowgirl record book in the weight throw by launching the third-longest weight throw in program history.
