Game Flow
- The Red Raiders came out shooting well and took a 10-0 lead to start the game on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor. But the Cowboys answered with a 10-0 run of their own to keep the game close midway through the first half.
- The theme of runs continued as Texas Tech finished the half with another to take a 42-27 lead into the break.
- The Red Raiders were able to extend their lead quickly out of the halftime break and it was too much for OSU to overcome as Texas Tech took home a 78-57 victory.
Game Notes
Â
- Despite falling behind at the start, the Cowboy defense came alive and forced Texas Tech to miss their next five shots from the field and held the Red Raiders scoreless for more than 3 minutes following the initial scoring run.
- During OSU's own 10-0 run to answer the Red Raider start, the Cowboys hit five of their six shots while also holding Texas Tech to another 3-minute scoring drought.Â
- Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe recorded three assists, which tied his career high. He last recorded three assists on March 1, 2021 against Oklahoma.
- Tyreek Smith made his impact on the boards as he recorded a season-high 6 rebounds. His career high, eight, came on February 1, 2021 against Oklahoma.
- Bryce Thompson posted 14 points, marking the fifth time this season he recorded double-figuring scoring. Â
