Cowgirl Equestrian Welcomes Lauren Pursley
August 05, 2021 | Cowgirl Equestrian
Oklahoma State's equestrian team will welcome Horsemanship rider Lauren Pursely to the team this fall.
"I'm really excited to finally get to Oklahoma State, meet the team and get to work," Pursley said. "It's been a long wait since I started the process of committing to OSU, and that wait is finally almost over. Oklahoma State has such a welcoming environment where nobody walks by without smiling or saying hello. OSU also has an absolutely stacked Equestrian team. Coach Laura and Coach Larry do an amazing job of recruiting really great riders with excellent work ethics, and that's something I really value. I know these coaches will really help me grow as an equestrian rider."
Pursley makes her way to Stillwater out of College Station, Texas. She has been riding for 13 years and competes in Reining and Horsemanship.Â
"We have been counting down the days until Lauren arrives at OSU," said OSU Western coach Laura Brainard. "Her infectious energy and positivity will impact everyone she surrounds herself with. I can't wait to watch her work ethic, leadership skills and riding ability evolve and bring us to new heights."
Pursley plans to major in strategic communication. Her favorite hype song is "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) by tEurythmics", and her go-to pre-show meal is fruit snacks or goldfish.
