Harding Rejoins OSU Athletics In Student-Athlete Leadership & Professional Development Role

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State athletic director Chad Weiberg has announced the hiring of Jawauna Harding to the newly created position of Director of Student-Athlete Leadership and Professional Development.
A former student-athlete and OSU alumna, Harding is returning to OSU Athletics to build student-athlete initiatives and programming focused on experiential learning, professional skills and leadership development. She will also provide oversight to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and other facets of student engagement.
"So much is already being done to support our student-athletes, and those efforts are appreciated, but under Jawauna's coordination and leadership I'm confident we will be able to enhance and elevate even further the services we provide to support our student-athletes' lifelong personal and professional success," Weiberg said.
Harding spent more than 12 years working directly with OSU student-athletes and alumni through OSU's Office of Career Services. A current member of the athletic department Diversity Council, Harding will serve as OSU Athletics' Diversity and Inclusion Designee to the Big 12 Conference and other national organizations and will help support OSU's vision for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Harding graduated from OSU in 2006, earning her degree in journalism and broadcasting emphasizing in public relations. After working for a non-profit in Oklahoma City, Jawauna returned to her alma mater in October of 2008.
