Oklahoma State's Equestrian team has added Jumping Seat standout Riley Hogan to the roster for the upcoming season.
Hogan comes to Stillwater out of Liberty High School in Beaton, Virginia.Â
"I'm most excited about being part of a team," Hogan said. "What brought me to OSU was the atmosphere and the campus — the minute I stepped on the campus, it felt like home."
Said OSU Jumping Seat coach Oliva Dorey, "We are so excited to welcome Riley to the Cowgirl family this fall. She brings a lot of experience riding different horses and has successfully competed in the competition ring this past year. She has a great work ethic and attitude that will help to continue pushing this team to grow together."
Hogan has been riding for 15 years, building an impressive resume heading into collegiate riding, including the following honors: 3'3" Grand Champion at Junior Hunter Finals in 2020, runner-up at the NCEA Huntseat Medal Finals in 2019, 11th at USHJA 3'3" Jumping Seat Medal Finals, fifth place in the $100,000 WEC Premier Equitation Cup as well as riding the 3'3" Juniors National Horse of the Year.Â
Recently, Hogan has been making her name heard before coming to college. At the last week of Tryon Spring, Hogan scored an 89 in the WIHS Hunter Phase and a 90 in the WIHS Jumper Phase to make her the overall WIHS winner that weekend. Hogan also rode two horses to the championship and reserve championship in the 3'3" Junior Hunters. To finish off Tryon, she rode a children's jumper to a third-place finish in the Classic.
Hogan then traveled to Traverse City to win the WIHS overall two weeks in a row, swapping off when she won the WIHS Jumper Phase and the WIHS Hunter Phase. Both weeks she rode to the championship in the 3'6" Junior Hunters and placed seventh in the USHJA National Derby during the first week. In the second week, Hogan also enjoyed showing a children's jumper where she rode to two first-place finishes, including the Classic, which resulted in her receiving champion honors.Â
Hogan plans to major in business at OSU.
