Alexander, Eberle Sweep Big 12 Weekly Awards

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State softball's Chelsea Alexander and Carrie Eberle have been named Big 12 Player and Pitcher of the Week after their performances last week, it was announced today.
Alexander batted .500 on the week, including going 5-for-9 in the sweep of the No. 7/12 Texas Longhorns. Alexander recorded a double, two RBI and owned a .600 slugging percentage for the Cowgirls last week. She also stole two bases, bringing her season total to 14.
Eberle earned three starts and recorded two wins for the Cowgirls last week, giving her an 18-1 record for the season. Eberle threw her 14th complete game this season in game one of the series against No. 7/12 Texas. She gave up just four earned runs across her three starts, while striking out 12.
The honor is Eberle's fourth of the season and the sixth of her career, while this marks Alexander's first-career Big 12 weekly honor.
