ORLANDO, Fla. – Oklahoma State's Bunyawi Thamchaiwat became the 16th player in program history to earn ITA All-America status with her victory Monday afternoon at the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship.
"Bunyawi played an excellent match today and it's a reflection of her hard work to develop throughout her career," OSU head coach Chris Young said. "Often in these matches when an All-America honor is on the line, you see players not play at their best, but today she was able to raise her level at the right moments. I'm excited to continue to watch her compete and see how far she can go on this event."
Thamchaiwat defeated Wake Forest's Anna Campana in straight sets, 7-5, 6-2, to earn her second win of the tournament.
A player must win two matches to be named an ITA All-American. OSU has had at least one player achieve the milestone each season since 2014, with Thamchaiwat extending that streak with Monday's victory.
Thamchaiwat advances to the round of 16 tomorrow where she will face Anna Rogers of North Carolina State.
