Thamchaiwat, Wolfberg Earn All-Conference Honors

Bunyawi Thamchaiwat was crowned as the Big 12 Player of the Year after finishing the season as the league's No. 1 singles position champion, while teammate Alana Wolfberg was named a second-team All-Big 12 selection the conference office announced this afternoon.

Thamchaiwat is the first Cowgirl to be named the league's top player since Viktoriya Lushkova earned the distinction in 2015. The senior finished the year at 6-1 in the Big 12 regular season. She was ranked No. 26 in the latest ITA singles rankings. She and teammate Ayumi Miyamoto were ranked No. 57 in doubles action after finishing 10-6 on the year.

She predominantly played on court one for the Cowgirls, finishing 9-2 on court one and 3-0 on court two. Thamchaiwat was 11-8 in doubles action 4-4 in doubles during conference play.

Thamchaiwat is the highest-ranked singles player in the conference and was crowned the Big 12 position champion on court one.

Wolfberg was 8-8 on the year, including a 2-5 mark in conference play. She also tallied an 11-8 record in doubles and was 5-1 in conference play.
