Cowgirls Take Down Mavericks to Close Out Homestand

Logan Simunek (4-3) drew the start in the circle and pitched four innings to earn the win on the night. Kelly Maxwell (13-1) pitched two perfect innings while striking out four batters and Carrie Eberle (16-1) struck out the side in her only inning of work.
Offensively, the Cowgirls were led by Kiley Naomi (3-for-4, HR), Alysen Febrey (2-for-2, HR) Hayley Busby (1-for-2, 3 RBI) and Reagan Wright (2-for-2, 2B, 3B).
The Mavericks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Cowgirls responded by scoring in each of the first four innings of the game.
OSU scored five runs in the fourth inning to extend their lead and collect their 36th victory of the season.
The Cowgirls return to action next Tuesday, April 27th as they travel to Wichita State to take on the Shockers for the third time this season. OSU and Wichita State split the first two games of the series this season in Stillwater.
