NORMAN, OKLA.- Oklahoma State's women's tennis team was defeated, 4-0, by Oklahoma on Friday afternoon at Headington Tennis Center.

With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 7-9 overall and 1-4 in Big 12 play on the year, while Oklahoma improved to 10-5 and 2-3 in the league action.

The Cowgirls got off to a slow start, dropping the doubles point to the Sooners. Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and Ayumi Miyamoto were defeated by the 11th-ranked doubles tandem in the country, Carmen and Ivana Corley, 6-1. Oklahoma's Camila Romero and Martina Capurro earned the doubles-clinching point beating Daniella Medvedeva and Dariya Detkovskaya, 6-1. Lenka Stara and Alana Wolfberg trailed 4-3 when their match was halted.

In singles action, Martina Capurro defeated Cowgirl Dariya Detkovskaya, 6-1, 6-2, to move the Sooner lead to 2-0. Shortly thereafter, Oklahoma's Dana Guzman defeated Ayumi Miyamoto, 6-4, 6-4. Oklahoma's match-clinching point came when Ivana Corley defeated Alana Wolfberg, 6-4, 7-5.

The matches for Bunyawi Thamchaiwat, Daniella Medvedeva and Lenka Stara were all left unfinished.

The Cowgirls will be back in action tomorrow at home vs No. 16 UCF at 4:30 p.m.
