STILLWATER — The Oklahoma State softball team earned its 35th victory of the season with an 11-3 run-rule victory over the Baylor Lady Bears.
The Cowgirls improved to 35-5 (11-1 Big 12) on the season and swept their third consecutive conference series with the win. OSU is on an 11-game conference win streak, which extends the program record previously set with yesterday's doubleheader sweep.
Carrie Eberle got the start in the circle for the second time on the weekend and earned her 16th win of the season, pitching all six innings and striking out five Lady Bears.
Offensively, the Cowgirls were led by Chelsea Alexander, Hayley Busby and Kiley Naomi.
Alexander (2-for-3, HR, 3 RBI) hit her second home run of the season in the second inning and drove in three runs on the day.
Naomi continued her impressive weekend, going 1-for-2 with a stolen base and scoring two runs. The shortstop hit .778 (7-for-9) over the weekend.
Busby (1-for-3, 2 RBI) clinched the run-rule walk-off victory with a two-run homer in the sixth inning.
The Cowgirls return to action Tuesday at Tulsa for their first midweek contest of the week. The game is set to begin at 5 p.m. CT.
