STILLWATER – Oklahoma State secured its third three-game series sweep of the season Sunday with a 10-4 win over UNCW in the series finale at O'Brate Stadium.
The win was the fifth in a row for the 11th-ranked Cowboys, who moved to 21-7-1 on the season, including a 16-4-1 mark at home.
Christian Encarnacion-Strand continued to produce runs for the Pokes as he went 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run and four RBIs. Four other Cowboys drove in runs, while Cade Cabbiness, Alix Garcia and Hueston Morrill joined Encarnacion-Strand with two hits apiece.
Justin Wrobleski picked up the win on the mound to improve to 3-2 as he tied a career high with seven innings pitched. The southpaw allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out five while not issuing a walk.
The Cowboys jumped out to an early lead on Encarnacion-Strand's team-leading 10th homer of the season in the opening inning, a two-run shot to right field.
OSU increased its lead to 3-0 via the long ball in the third when Nolan McLean led off the inning with a no-doubter to center field, the seventh round tripper of the season for the freshman.
After UNCW (15-12) cut the Cowboys' lead to 3-1 in the fourth, the home team answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning on a two-out, two-RBI single by Encarnacion-Strand.
A four-run rally in the fifth all but sealed the Seahawks fate as OSU took a 9-1 lead. A bunt single by Morrill brought home the Pokes' first run in the inning, and two batters later, Max Hewitt collected a two-RBI single. The final run came when Noah Sifrit scored on a wild pitch.
UNCW added single runs in the sixth, seventh and ninth innings, while the Cowboys' final run came in the eighth on a solo homer by Garcia, his third of the season.
OSU concludes its 12-game homestand Tuesday when the Cowboys take on Oral Roberts. First pitch from O'Brate Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
