Cowboys Finish Sixth At Cabo Collegiate

Final Results
SAN ANTONIO – Oklahoma State's men's golf team posted a closing round of 280 on Wednesday at the Cabo Collegiate to move into sixth place at TPC San Antonio's Oaks Course.
The Cowboys' 8-under tally was their low round of the event at the par-72, 7,034-yard layout. OSU finished at 14-over 878 and four shots behind Arizona State for fifth place. Oklahoma won the event with its 860 total.
Texas A&M's Sam Bennett closed with a round of 67 to move to the top of the individual leaderboard at 211.
OSU's Austin Eckroat earned a top-five finish after posting a closing 69 to finish at 214. Eckroat, who was named to the U.S. Walker Cup squad earlier this week, made the turn at 1-over 37 after stringing together eight pars and a bogey on his outward nine. He would heat up on the back nine, with birdies at Nos. 12, 14, 16 and 18 for a 4-under 32 side.
Freshman Bo Jin fired the squad's low round of the day, a 66, to join Eckroat in the top 10. Jin tied for 10th place at 216. After carding five birdies on his front nine, he followed with a bogey-free 33 on the inward nine to finish at 6-under for the day.
Sophomore Eugenio Chacarra birdied four of his last five holes to shoot 69 and move into a tie for 26th place at 220.
Sophomore Aman Gupta carded a 76 to finish at 229 and tied for 60th place, while freshman Brian Stark's 79 tied him for 81st place at 237.
Freshman Hazen Newman competed individually and closed with a 73 to finish at 229 and tied for 60th place.
The Cowboys will be back in action on March 15 when they travel to Austin, Texas to take part in the George Hannon Invitational.
