Cowgirl Tennis Falls To Texas Tech

STILLWATER, OKLA.- Oklahoma State's women's tennis team was defeated by No. 32 Texas Tech, 4-3, this afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 6-8 overall and 0-3 in Big 12 play on the year, while Texas Tech moved to 12-5 and 5-2.
The day started with the Red Raiders taking the doubles point. OSU's Alana Wolfberg and Lenka Stara won their match against the duo of Margarita Skriabina and Nell Miller, 6-3. Next, Ayumi Miyamoto and Bunyawi Thamchaiwat were defeated by Texas Tech's Lisa Mays and Kaitlin Staines, 6-3. The doubles point came down to a third-set tiebreaker on court three where Dariya Detkovskaya and Daniella Medvedeva were defeated by Olivia Peet and Metka Komac of Texas Tech, 7-6 (7-3) to claim the doubles point for Texas Tech.
Ayumi Miyamoto claimed the first point in singles, defeating Kaitlin Staines, 7-5, 6-2. Next, Olivia Peet of Texas Tech defeated Lenka Stara, 6-3, 7-6. Alana Wolfberg was dealt a 6-1, 5-7, 1-6 loss from Margarita Skriabina. Cowgirl Bunyawi Thamchaiwat defeated Texas Tech's Lisa Mays, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. Dariya Detkovskaya evened the match at three apiece after defeating Nell Miller of Texas Tech, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. In a third-set tiebreaker that went down to the wire, Daniella Medvedeva dropped her match, 6-3, 1-6, 6-7 (10-8) to Texas Tech's Metka Komac to claim the match-clinching point for Texas Tech.
