Cowgirls Lose To USC, 6-1

Los Angeles, Calif. - Oklahoma State's 13th-ranked women's tennis team wrapped up its West Coast road swing on Saturday with a 6-1 loss at the hands of No. 17 USC.
Despite the Cowgirls picking up a victory on court one, USC would go on to claim the doubles point. OSU's Ayumi Miyamoto and Bunyawi Thamchaiwat defeated Naomi Cheong and Eryn Cayetano, 6-2, to give the Cowgirls an early advantage.Â
On court two, Dariya Detkovskaya and Danilla Medvedeva lost, 6-4, against the USC duo of Summer Dvorak and Danielle Willson. The doubles point came down to court three where Alana Wolfberg and Lenka Stara were defeated in a hard-fought tiebreaker, 7-6, by Salma Ewing and Clare Mckee to send the doubles point in favor of the Trojans.
USC took the first point in singles as Alana Wolfberg fell to Naomi Cheong, 6-4, 6-1. The Trojans made it 3-0 as Dariya Detkovskaya came up short against Danielle Willson, 6-4, 6-1. Summer Dvorak defeated Cowgirl Lenka Stara, 6-4, 6-3, to give USC its match-clinching point.
The remaining matches were played out with Ayumi Miyamoto being defeated by USC's Salma Ewing in a second-set tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-3 (4-10).Â
Bunyawi Thamchaiwat picked up the Pokes' lone point with a 7-5, 7-6 victory over USC's Eryn Cayetano. Trojan Clare Mckee defeated Daniella Medvedeva, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5, to round out the scoring for USC.
