Cowgirls Lose 4-0 To Pepperdine

Malibu, Calif. -Oklahoma State's 13th-ranked women's tennis team started up its West Coast road swing on Friday with a 4-0 loss at the hands of No. 4 Pepperdine.
The Waves struck first in the contest, taking the doubles point. On court one, Ayumi Miyamoto and Bunyawi Thamchaiwat played well and were tied 3-3 when their match was called.
Alana Wolfberg and Danilla Medvedeva lost, 6-0, against the Pepperdine duo of Taisiya Pachkaleva and Lisa Zaar. Dariya Detkovskaya and Lenka Stara were defeated, 6-2, by Ashley Lahey and Nikki Redelijk to send the doubles point in favor of the Waves.
Pepperdine took the first point in singles as Lenka Stara fell to Nikki Redelijk, 6-0, 6-4. The Waves made it 3-0 as Daniella Medvedeva came up short against Lisa Zaar, 6-4, 6-1.
Dariya Detkovskaya took No. 88 Taisiya Pachkaleva to three sets before eventually falling, 6-0, 3-6, 6-1, on court four to give the Waves the clinching point.
No. 24 Bunyawi Thamchaiwat was leading the No. 1 singles player in the nation Ashley Lahey in the third set when her match was called and No. 77 Ayumi Miyamoto was trailing in her third set against No. 12 Shiori Fukuda after winning her first set, 7-5. Alana Wolfberg was in a third-set tiebreaker when her match was halted against 33rd-ranked Jessica Failla of Pepperdine.
