Cowgirl Tennis Defeats Oral Roberts, 7-0

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's 13th-ranked women's tennis team earned another home victory on Wednesday, defeating Oral Roberts, 7-0, this afternoon in the Greenwood Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls dominated doubles action. The duo of Alana Wolfberg and Danielle Medvedeva struck first against Oral Roberts, defeating Gorana Kadijevic and Flavia Gutierrez, 6-0. Dariya Detkovskaya and Lenka Stara took down ORU's Zere Iskakova and Rai Sengupta, 6-0. Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and Ayumi Miyamoto defeated Oleksandra Nahurska and Aliksandra Lebedeva, 6-3.
OSU entered singles with a 2-0 lead after Oral Roberts had to default on court six, giving Cowgirl Lora Boggs a victory. The Cowgirls would go on to sweep the remaining matches in their rout of the Golden Eagles.
Dariya Detkovskaya claimed the first singles point of the day after defeating Oral Roberts Aliksandra Lebedeva, 6-1, 6-1. Soon thereafter, Ayumi Miyamoto beat Zere Iskakova of Oral Roberts, 6-0, 6-1, to put the match out of reach. Additionally, Daniella Medvedeva defeated ORU's Gorana Kadijevic, 6-2, 6-0, and Alana Wolfberg dominated Oral Robert's Oleksandra Nahurska, 6-0, 6-2. Lenka Stara closed out the Cowgirl sweep by beating Rai Sengupta of Oral Roberts, 6-3, 6-4.
The Cowgirls will be back in action on Feb. 26 and 27 when they head west to face Pepperdine and USC.
