Game Flow
- After a back-and-forth first 15 minutes of the game, Oklahoma State was able to take the lead, 31-30, following a 7-0 run punctuated by an emphatic Avery Anderson III dunk.
- The Cowboys were able to finish the half strong, sinking their last three shots, including an Anderson pull-up three at the buzzer, to take a 39-35 lead into the break.
- Despite being down at the break, Xavier was able to come out regain its control of the lead with a 6-0 run before the midway point of the second half.
- The Musketeers extended their second half lead to double-digits along the way. Woody Newton attempted to bring the Cowboys back with two late threes to bring the deficit to eight but, it still wouldn't be enough, and Xavier would go onto win 77-71
Game Notes
- Avery Anderson fresh off a season-high in points with 17 vs. Wichita State topped that number with 26 vs. the Musketeers. This also marked the fourth 20+ point game of his career.
- Bryce Williams put up 11 points, marking the fourth time in his six games of action that he scored double-digit points for the Cowboys off the bench.
- Isaac Likekele recorded his 136th career steal to move up to 17th all time in Oklahoma State's history.
- Prior to the halftime break, the Oklahoma State defense was able to hold the Musketeers from scoring a field goal for over six minutes, which allowed the 13-5 Cowboy run to give them the lead at the halftime break.
- Coach Mike Boynton went with a new starting lineup with Avery Anderson III, Bryce Thompson, Rondel Walker, Isaac Likekele, Moussa Cisse

- OSU has forced at least 10 turnovers 139 times under Mike Boynton
- OSU has made at least one three-pointer in 706 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 13, 2001, which is the 24th longest current streak in college basketball.
- Although it missed the mark is back-to-back games prior to the Xavier game, OSU tallied 13 assists marking the seventh time the team has reached double-digit assists.
- Xavier shooting 42 percent tonight solidified that OSU has yet to allow an opposing team to shoot better than 43 percent from the field this year (ORU) and has held six below 40 percent (UT-Arlington, Oakland, Prairie View A&M, UMass-Lowell, NC State, and College of Charleston) while holding one to just 29 percent from the field (Charleston).
- The 39-35 halftime lead marked the seventh time in the nine games that OSU was able to have a lead after the first half of play.
