November 09, 2021 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – The Oklahoma State football team landed at No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday evening.
The Cowboys added another win to their resume with a 24-3 victory over West Virginia on Saturday. OSU is 8-1 on the season and its three wins over ranked opponents is tied for the second most in the nation, only behind top-ranked Georgia who holds four victories in ranked matchups.
This marks the 13th consecutive CFP poll OSU has been a part of dating back to November 5, 2019. This is the highest the Cowboys have been ranked in the College Football Playoff rankings since they appeared at No. 10 on November 29, 2016.
Oklahoma State is one of three teams representing the Big 12 Conference in the CFP Top 25. Similar to the AP and Coaches polls, Oklahoma remains the highest-ranked member of the conference at No. 8, followed by No. 10 OSU and No. 13 Baylor, who the Cowboys defeated 24-14 on October 2.
The College Football Playoff rankings will be announced every Tuesday until the selections show on Sunday, December 5, following the conference championship games.
No. 10 Oklahoma State returns to Boone Pickens Stadium to face the Horned Frogs for a special blackout-themed game that will include the induction of Barry Sanders into the Oklahoma State Football Ring of Honor. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be televised on FOX.
