Edwards, Kegans Join Oklahoma State Football Coaching Staff
December 30, 2025 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State football coach Eric Morris rounded out his coaching staff Tuesday, naming Nick Edwards as wide receivers coach and Bryan Kegans as head strength and conditioning coach.
Edwards joins the Cowboys from the same position at Wake Forest, and Kegans comes to Stillwater after working in the same position under Morris at North Texas from 2023-25.
A 13-year coaching veteran, Edwards has a decade of experience coaching wide receivers at the collegiate level. His 2025 receivers helped Wake Forest rank No. 22 nationally and second in the ACC with an average of 13.15 yards per completion, led by Carlos Hernandez who was No. 27 among all Power 4 receivers with 15.82 yards per catch.
Prior to that, Edwards was part of several prolific offensive staffs with Washington State, the Atlanta Falcons, Cal Poly, the Minnesota Vikings, California and Eastern Washington. During that time he coached Cooper Kupp, who went on to become an NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Super Bowl MVP and Pro Bowl selection, at Eastern Washington and Kyle Williams, who went on to become a 2025 third-round draft pick of the New England Patriots, at Washington State.
Edwards played four seasons at Eastern Washington from 2009-12. He helped the Eagles win the 2010 FCS national title as a sophomore and was selected to nine FCS All-America teams as a junior in 2011 after leading the FCS with 19 receiving touchdowns. After graduating in 2012, he was signed by the Minnesota Vikings and was on offseason NFL rosters with Arizona and Seattle before starting his coaching career.
A 20-year coaching veteran, Kegans played on the offense line at Texas Tech from 2002-05 and was on the roster with Morris, who played wide receiver at TTU, in his final two seasons in Lubbock.
Kegans has worked in strength and conditioning throughout his career, which includes stops at Texas, Oklahoma, USC and several high schools before his arrival at UNT.
He holds certifications from CSCCA (Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association), SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified), NSCA (strength and conditioning specialist), and NASM (performance enhancement specialist, corrective exercise specialist and functional movement specialist).
All university hires are pending completion of a background check.
