November 08, 2021 | Cowgirl Tennis
STILLWATER - Oklahoma State women's tennis student-athlete Lora Boggs was one of 51 students recognized by the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association as 2021-22 Senior of Significance. Â
Â
"Since I was a little girl, I've dreamed about attending Oklahoma State University and being a part of the women's tennis team," Boggs said. "What an honor it is to represent OSU Athletics in receiving such a prestigious award. I would not be able to accomplish everything I have done thus far without the consistent support of my coaches, family and friends. My hope is that my story can inspire people to dream big. I believe wholeheartedly dreams do come true at Oklahoma State University."Â
Â
"This is a significant honor for Lora and we are so proud of her for the impact she has had on our program and the campus community," head coach Chris Young said.Â
Â
The Seniors of Significance Award recognizes students who have excelled in scholarship, leadership and service to campus and community and have brought distinction to OSU.Â
Â
The 51 students represent the top one percent of the Class of 2022, including all five OSU undergraduate academic colleges. Â
Â
Boggs, a native of Edmond, Oklahoma, graduated from Edmond North High School in 2018. She is a senior accounting student with a 4.00-grade point average. Â
Â
A recipient of the OSU Student-Athlete Academic Achievement Award in 2018-19 has earned her way on the President's Honor Roll each year at OSU. In addition, Boggs has put together a distinguished resume in her time at Oklahoma State, a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and a two-time selection to the ITA and Big 12 All-Academic teams.    Â
Â
The Alumni Association will honor these students at a public reception on Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center.Â
