October 14, 2021 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's Morgyn Wynne has been selected as the Big 12 Conference representative to the Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (D-I SAAC), it was announced.
"There is a lot of change going on in college athletics," OSU athletic director Chad Weiberg said. "No one is more impacted by those changes than the student-athletes themselves. For our student-athletes to know that Morgyn is at the table and in those conversations is a great thing."
A 2021 All-Big 12 softball honoree and president-elect of the student-athlete advisory committee at Kansas, Wynne transferred to Oklahoma State for her senior season and was named OSU's SAAC president upon arrival.
Wynne was selected for her national post from a list of nominations following a review process by the Big 12 Directors of Student-Athlete Support Services.
Jawauna Harding, Oklahoma State's SAAC administrative adviser, played a large role in Wynne's appointment as the Big 12 representative at the NCAA DI level and works closely with the executive SAAC members at OSU.
"We're excited to have someone be a part of the student-athlete advisory committee at the NCAA level and represent the Big 12 well," Harding said. "Not only is it about being vocal and outspoken, but the knowledge-based leadership style that Morgyn has, that's exactly what we were looking for.
As one of 32 NCAA DI conference representatives, Wynne will be the voice for all Big 12 conference institutions and individuals among the nation's best and brightest student-athletes for a two-year term.
