October 01, 2021 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oklahoma State women's cross country sent several runners to compete in the Chile Pepper XC Festival on Friday.
The Cowgirls sent eight runners in total for the 5k race, with four of them running unattached. For the unattached Cowgirl squad, Colleen Stegmann led the way, finishing 65th with a time of 18:06.1. Grace Ping, Krystal Rodriguez and Abby Pickett rounded out the unattached finishers with times of 18:30.1, 18:49.6 and 19:17.2, respectively.
Gabija Galvydyte led the Cowgirls, finishing with a time of 18:45.3. Amelia Jauregui, Emily Forster and Makayla Pate also ran for OSU, posting times of 19:44.7, 19:56.8 and 21:51.9, respectively.
Because OSU only ran four "official" runners in the event, the Cowgirls did not receive a team score for the race.
The Cowgirls will return to competition Oct. 18 as they travel to Madison, Wis., to run in the Nuttycombe Invitational.
