Cowgirl Softball Picked to Finish Third in Big 12

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State was picked to finish third in the Big 12 softball preseason poll, it was announced today.
This ties the Cowgirls' highest preseason conference ranking, with their other third place selection coming prior to the 2020 season.
The Big 12 is one of the premier conferences in the nation with four of its seven teams represented in the first preseason ranking of the year by D1 Softball, which included Oklahoma (No. 2), Texas (No. 9), Oklahoma State (No. 10), and Baylor (No. 19).
Led by All-American Carrie Eberle, the Cowgirls return an experienced pitching staff that led the Big 12 and ranked third in the NCAA with a 1.20 earned run average last season.
All-Americans Alysen Febrey and Sydney Pennington will be back in the lineup in 2021 along with several key offensive weapons from last year's team that posted a .302 batting average and .514 slugging percentage.
