Cowboys In Eighth Place After Day One At Colonial

FT. WORTH, Texas — Oklahoma State's men's golf team opened play at the Colonial Collegiate Invitational on Monday with a 26-over total of 586 to stand in eighth place at Colonial Country Club.
The Cowboys opened play with a 284 during their morning round before posting a 302 during the afternoon's action. Oklahoma came in with a 3-under total of 557 at the par-70, 7,204-yard layout to lead the event.
Four players in the field all finished at 1-under 139 for the day with OU's Quade Cummins, Kansas' Harry Hillier, Texas' Travis Vick and Texas Tech's Sandy Scott all sharing the individual lead.
Making his Cowboy debut was sophomore transfer Eugenio Chacarra, who posted rounds of 71 and 74 to come in tied for 22nd place at 145.
Joining his teammate at 145, was freshman Brian Stark, who posted rounds of 69 and 76 on the day.
Sophomore Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen carded scores of 72 and 78 to finish at 150 and tied for 41st place, while junior Austin Eckroat finished in a tie for 44th place at 151 after signing for scores of 72 and 79.
Sophomore Aman Gupta and freshman Bo Jin each turned in scores of 78 and 76 to finish at 154 and tied for 50th place.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow morning before heading to Houston to continue their Texas swing at the Big 12 Match Play Tournament.
