STILLWATER - Olyvia Dowell's golden goal with just 26 seconds remaining in the second overtime lifted No. 6 Oklahoma State to a 2-1 win over fourth-ranked West Virginia in front of a capacity crowd of 650 Friday night at Neal Patterson Stadium.

The win moved OSU to 3-0-0 on the season and into sole possession of first place in the Big 12 Conference standings. The Cowgirls have gone undefeated in their last 11 regular season games against league opponents (10-0-1).

Dowell's heroics came on a great individual effort as she made several moves to get past WVU defenders and drilled a left-footed shot from just inside the 18-yard box into the back of the net at the 109:34 mark. The goal was Dowell's second of the season.

Both teams had several scoring opportunities in the first half, but neither could get onto the scoreboard as the two defenses contained the opposing strikers.

However, the Cowgirls broke through early in the second half with a goal from Gabriella Coleman as she collected a beautiful long pass from Hannah Webb before outrunning the defense and delivering a shot to the far post for a 1-0 lead. The goal was Coleman's team-leading third of the season, and she has now scored in seven of OSU's last eight games.

West Virginia (2-1-0) answered in the 75^th minute as Stefany Ferrer-vanGinkel scored from a free kick that was save off the crossbar but then deflected into the net.

Tied at 1-1, both teams scrambled for a winner in the final 15 minutes, but the goalkeepers were able to keep the attackers at bay.

In the first overtime session, both teams managed a pair of shots but again were denied a winner.

OSU came out for the second overtime as the aggressor, limiting the Mountaineers without a shot in the period while recording a pair of shots of their own. But the match looked destined for a draw before Dowell collected the ball in the box and worked her late-game magic.

OSU returns to action Friday when the Cowgirls travel to Waco, Texas, to take on Baylor.
