OSU Athletics Assisting in COVID-19 Research

STILLWATER – With a COVID-19 testing lab on campus, Oklahoma State University is part of the solution to a worldwide pandemic.
While the doctors and scientists who are conducting the testing and research are among the heroes of the current situation, OSU Athletics is also playing a part.
More than 1,000 COVID-19 samples per day are being delivered to the OSU Diagnostic Lab for testing. Each day, these samples are being transported from health care providers across the state in coolers stocked with ice from concession stands at OSU Athletics facilities, such as Boone Pickens Stadium.
"Thanks to Kyle Waters and the athletic department, we now have a steady flow of ice," said Patrick Wheeler, who serves as facilities manager for the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at OSU.
"These are unprecedented times and we're glad to play a part in helping doctors and scientists as they work toward finding solutions," said OSU Athletic Director Mike Holder.
